Wang Yougu Bed & Breakfast sits next to the Jiufen River in verdant mountainous foothills. With just a 10-minute stroll, you can reach the popular trail, a walk back into the days of Jiufen’s gold rush. From the homestay you can look out over Jiufen, and Mt. Keelung, and whether by day or by night, it’s a spectacular sight. A renovated building built in the traditional stone style of the area, Wang Yougu’s renovations are our own handiwork, with every tile and stone personally laid. We’re born and bred Jiufen residents, and as such have a strong connection to the area and are invested heart and soul in providing a homestay experience you’ll love. Every room has its own table and chairs to relax at, with the interior design our own work; we hope you’ll enjoy your stay with us! If you arrive in the afternoon, you can head down from Songde Park to Jiufen Old Street and while away the hours in the old-fashioned surroundings at one of the excellent tea houses or cafés, and in the evening you can watch the stars in our yard, relaxing before a good night’s sleep, then wake up to a home-cooked breakfast. Then, full of vim and vigor, you can travel out to Jinguashi, visit the Gold Park, or go for a hike up Mt. Keelung or along the northeast coast. We have three rooms in different styles—a Japanese tatami room, a “blue ocean” room, and a “pastel romance” room. Each comes equipped with its own bathroom and free snacks, including candy, cookies, instant noodles, water, and drinks — perfect for that midnight snack! The usual fee is NT$1500 (Sunday-Thursday), with weekends and holidays NT$2000. Extra beds can be provided for NT$300 a person, up to a maximum of two additional people.
